Servants Heart Ministry exists to serve children.

The children, to the right of this page, are just a few of the examples of people in desperate need for basic necessities. These children don't have the necessary food to sustain them through the day. If you had the chance to serve them, would you?

In fact, there are children all over the world in this situation. Servants Heart Ministry is committed to developing program models to offer food and the Word of God throughout the world.

Jesus called them together and said...

"You know the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to become a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must also be your servant. For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve others and to give His live as a ransom for many."   Matthew 20:25-28

Greatness in the Bible is defined by servanthood. We talk about serving God, but this can be a bit unclear. Serving God means loving and serving others.

2011 National Missionary Convention!

All of the American and Dominican SHM Board members traveled to Atlanta, Georgia on November 17-20 to attend the 64th Annual National Missionary Convention at the Georgia International Convention Center.

Rex Sexton, Rob Dublin, Jay Weinstein & Pastor Ramon Hernandez were joined by our good friend Ken Hill to inform the 7000 attendees at the convention about Servant's Heart Ministry and the work we are doing in the Dominican Republic serving God's children. Rex's wife, Jill her niece Meredith, along with Rob's wife Kyna also joined in to help us to get the word out about our food programs and the Child sponsorships now available in the three Dominican Republic villages that we operate in. By providing food, school supplies (and now shoes this Christmas) to these precious children we are hoping to make a difference in their lives.

We handed out hundreds of our SHM brochures and also spoke with many good people to inform them about our Ministry and our needs for 2012. We also placed a rack that had pictures of our Dominican Children that are still needing sponsors at the front of our booth and many visitors looked at the pictures of our children with a full heart. We asked the attendees to sponsor a child and to also to pray for the children's needs as well as their individual family's needs. It has been a good year for Child Sponsorships and we should pass 100 children sponsored by early 2012. We need your additional support to sponsor all of the children (over 200 more still need your support) and we know that in time the children will all have sponsors thanks to your generosity and with God's helping hand we know it will happen. We also made important contacts at the Convention with Christian University's as well as other Missions based organizations over the four day period. These are groups that work in the Dominican Republic today and we hope to be able to partner with some of them in the future.

The possibilities are very encouraging as a College or University could send future missionaries as well as pastors in training down to work with our Dominican Leadership Team and at the same time they will also be working with our children. It could also benefit our children to see young college students with a heart for missions. The Students could also be a good resource for our church leaders in the Dominican Republic by providing the tools to help them teach our children about Jesus. 2012 will be a good year for our Dominican children thanks to you. Please pray for them. Please consider sponsoring a child as you can make a difference in this world one child at a time...............

How do I walk with God!

Practically, what would that look like day to day? Those are just a couple of simple questions that Christians face today as they seek Him. Many of us are aware of Matthew 7:7-8, “Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks finds and everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” However; asking, seeking, and knocking are somewhat difficult to actually do consistently with all that we have in our lives. It seems to have slight paralyzing effect to some as we often do not receive answers to pray on our time or even in the way we want. The sit and wait approach is not the answer.

As Christ followers, we can expect that God will be moving in our lives in some way if we are willing. Being sensitive to the Spirit is an attribute that develops as we mature and you can take an active part in that. We have to be sure that the expectation of God’s movement is based from where He sits…not us. I’m sure it puts a smile on God’s face by the mere fact that we are striving to be with Him through asking, seeking, and knocking. But, it is my contention that it is more of an active on-going event than just speaking to Him. What is it that you can do to serve while you are asking? Who can you reach out to while you are seeking? What can be done in your circle of influence while you are knocking?

I challenge you all to do something for the Kingdom in your everyday life. Just tell God, “I am not exactly sure what you need me to do, but I will start something today.” I will tell you that you will be blessed and as you are reaching out and serving, He will begin to reveal more and more to you. Just start moving!

Make God smile today!
