Esperanza's One Year Celebration

Just one short year ago on January 4th, 2010, our vision became a reality in Esperanza, Dominican Republic. We began our first food program serving only 69 children. Today, Esperanza serves 125 children and we have two additional programs in Valla Hondito and Las Canoas that collectively serve over 300 children. To see a vision become a reality is such an inspiring event. We are in awe of the power of God and are so thankful to be a part of his Master Plan. We also would like to thank our supporters because without your faith and commitment to this ministry, none of this would have happened. We are now at the dawn of a new year and we are so excited to walk by faith and follow God's footsteps as he guides this ministry to new heights. We know that there is still much more work to be done and we are committed to do this work, if you haven't partnered with us yet, please make 2011 a year that you commit to contribute, serve and pray for this ministry.

If only a few people can make this type of change in the World imagine what hundreds can do. The change that we can make in this World is not limited by resources, it is limited by ourselves. Make the decision to change someone's life this year, someone who's life is just as valuable as your own, someone who is waiting for a person just like you to come to their rescue.

God Continues to Bless the Children!

Thanks to God, our donors and a team of volunteers, we were able to establish new food programs in the communities of Las Canoas, Azua and Valla Hondito, San Juan. These two programs will serve a combined 191 children.

Las Canoas and Valla Hondito are both terribly impoverished communities. Along with feeding and ministering to 191 children, we have been able to establish churches in both of these communities as well. Pastor Nelson, a pastor for Centro Christiano, is administering these programs and churches. He will do an incredible job and we know that his compassion, faith and stewardship will lead these children and communities to a closer relationship with Christ. We are still so amazed and humbled to see the many blessing and opportunites that God has given this ministry.

It is an absolute incredible feeling to see that in just one short year, we have gone from changing the lives of 69 children to 316 children. There is no way this could have happened without the full blessing and will of God.

Our plans to build a facility to house SHM offices, a food program for the children and a new church in the Santiago area will hopefully become a reallity in 2011. We intend to begin construction in the 1st quarter of 2011. We will be formulating teams to go and help with the construction process. These are exciting times and we believe that this facilty will reach countless families. We are continually praying that God will guide us through this process and that our decisions stay true to the mission, the ministry and God's plan.

The launch of our child sponsorship and development program has been well received.

Our goal and vision is to serve the children in such a way that their lives are transformed from hopeless to fullness. Sponsorships bring the reality of this vision one step closer. Due to the love and compassion that many people have shown by sponsoring a child, we have been able to expand our efforts to provide the children with more nutrition.
